High School Curriculum
We have developed a five-part curriculum for use in high school classrooms. Each lesson is only 20 minutes, perfect for integration as a one week unit in English or Social Studies.
Objective
Teach students to understand what living peacefully with others means, what challenges impede peace, and give them skills to contribute to making the world more, rather than less, peaceful.
Learning Outcomes
- Explain a working definition of peace that goes beyond “no fighting.”
- Describe how unmanaged anger can escalate conflict. Explain at least one strategy to prevent escalation.
- Differentiate between biased and unbiased sources of information.
- Identify at least one concrete way they can act more peacefully in their own lives (behavior or information-sharing).
